About Tony Packham

I'm Tony Packham. I spent a career as an engineer. Now I'm semi-retired and I run ESL Learning is Fun from my home in Asia.

I write lesson plans for my own online students and for teachers who are tired of the bland, repetitive material that fills most of the market. The plans are built to be used, not just collected. They give students something real to think about, argue with, and remember. English is the tool. The point is sharper thinking, wider knowledge, and a bit more life experience than another worksheet about America or the United Kingdom. 

I don't treat students as empty vessels who only need grammar rules. I treat them as humans who already live in a complicated world. A good lesson should leave them better able to question what they hear, notice when something doesn't add up, and see past the easy story.

I want a world with less greed, less dishonesty, and no wars. That isn't a slogan I tack on at the end. It shapes what I choose to teach and how I talk to people. Skin colour and flags are surface details. Underneath them we are the same species, with the same capacity for decency and the same capacity for harm. I'd rather spend my time on the first one.
